United Houma Nation Tribal Resilience Plan
Houma, Louisiana
The United Houma Nation (UHN) headquarters, situated in Houma, Louisiana, is poised for a profound transformation to a community resilience center. Inspired by the crawfish, the cultural emblem of the tribe, the NANO team reimagined the campus as a reflection of adaptability and strength. The building renovation strategy intricately reconfigures the existing structure to meet the immediate needs of the community during both disaster events and blue skies. The exterior landscape, influenced by the crawfish's habitat, not only optimizes travel and flood mitigation but also accommodates versatile programmatic requirements.
