LSU Student Union Ballroom
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
The LSU Student Union Ballroom has long served as a setting for ceremonies, celebrations, and student life. This renovation reinforces its role on campus, balancing tradition with a design that will hold up over time.
The 11,500 SF interior upgrade includes new finishes, lighting, and window treatments, along with stage repairs and the integration of an ADA lift. Materials were selected for their richness and longevity, creating a space that feels both elevated and welcoming.

Subtle branding appears through the use of color, allowing LSU’s identity to be present without overwhelming the architecture. At the heart of the space, a 100-foot glass curtain wall opens to views of the live oak courtyard. A new abstract wall installation, drawn from the textures and rhythms of the landscape, deepens the connection between interior and exterior.
The design aligns with LSU’s broader campus principles—buildings that integrate with their surroundings, mediate between indoor and outdoor environments, and support the scale and significance of the events they hold.
